Birmingham (with travel across the region)
Temporary on-going - minimum 3 months

Are you an experienced housing professional with a passion for supporting tenants, tackling anti-social behaviour, and making a positive impact in local communities?
We’re recruiting for a Temporary Housing Officer with a particular focus on Tenancy Services to join a well-respected housing provider in Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable customers and contribute to high-quality housing management services on a short-term basis.
What you’ll be doing:

Managing a diverse caseload covering tenancy sustainment, mutual exchanges, successions, and tenancy changes.
-
Supporting officers with ASB and safeguarding casework, home visits, and installing noise monitoring equipment.
-
Acting as a key contact for tenants, helping resolve issues at the first point of contact and preventing repeat queries.
-
Monitoring starter and assured shorthold tenancies, ensuring legal compliance (including right-to-rent checks).
-
Accurately recording activity and supporting administrative tasks such as subject access requests and rota coordination.
-
Reporting safeguarding concerns appropriately and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
What we’re looking for:
-
Recent experience in a housing or customer service role, ideally within social housing.
-
Strong understanding of tenancy management processes and relevant legislation.
-
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathise, support, and problem-solve effectively.
-
Competence in using housing management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel across operational areas when needed.
