Home Response Officer X2 – Temporary on-going (minimum 6-month contract)
Swindon Area | £19.00 per hour | Immediate Start
Full-time, 37 hours per week | Shift-based, including weekends & standby
Driving Licence & Access to Vehicle Required
Think Community Partnership are working with a public sector organisation in the Swindon area to recruit two Home Response Officers on a minimum 6-month temporary contract, with the potential to extend.
This is a vital front-line role, supporting vulnerable adults, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions through a 24/7 emergency call response service.
Key Responsibilities

Respond rapidly to emergency calls from service users, aiming to attend within 45 minutes

Provide first aid, perform welfare checks, and coordinate emergency services if needed

Use lifting equipment (e.g., Raizer Chair, Camel Cushions) to support individuals safely

Install, test, and remove telecare systems (door sensors, smoke detectors, epilepsy monitors, etc.)

Maintain accurate service records and complete follow-up reports including safeguarding concerns

Liaise with professionals including emergency services, adult social care, GPs, and family members

Promote and set up new Homeline systems with empathy and professionalism

Be available for out-of-hours and on-call support when required
What You’ll Need

Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (essential)

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to stay calm and act decisively in emergency situations, including administering CPR

Comfortable working in varied and sometimes distressing home environments

Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults, elderly or medically at-risk individuals

Confidence using telecare systems or willingness to learn (training provided)

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths
Desirable:

First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to complete)

Experience with telecare technology

Manual handling/lifting equipment experience (training provided)

Background in housing, care, or emergency response environments
